There are many good reasons why some people love the original look and feel of photographs produced on film; there's also the expectation of having only 24 or 36 exposures to work with and the development of a roll of film. And then there's the desire to slow down from the relentless pace and instant gratification of digital technology.
In the 1960s, few cameras were easier and more affordable than the Sprite 35. Forget shutter speeds, aperture, or light metering; just load a roll of film, press the shutter, and pull the film lever. It was an attractive camera for those who wanted to take a few photos without fumbling with precise settings.
The Ilford Sprite 35-II continues this legacy and will meet the needs of those who experiment with 35mm film and are looking for a simple, 'unpretentious' camera. It's a step up from disposable cameras and, being reusable, creates no extra waste.
The camera features a constant shutter speed (1/120 sec) with a 31mm, single-element f9 fixed-focus wide-angle lens, perfect for capturing the best-focused daylight scenes, and also has a built-in flash with a 15-second recycling time for night shooting.
Users can load their favorite film—whether color negative or black and white—into the Sprite 35-II, allowing them to capture quick snapshots or somber monochrome scenes. The camera features a manual film advance/winding lever for moving through each exposure and rewinding the roll when the film is finished.
Weighing just 122 grams and measuring 119 mm (W) x 67 mm (H) x 44 mm (D), it is extremely lightweight and compact. It will be available in Black and Black and Silver versions.
